A fresh start for an old DGAer - Optics - 04 Aug 2008
After years of being out of DGA Teddy has officially came back to the team that started it all for him. Teddy spent a long time on the team back on sierra, but bounced around the community after his time.

Now back with DGA he will be just another piece to the puzzle of a successful DGA on spark. "It's awesome seeing people starting to play again." said Teddy when talking about his recent time Sunday with some of his new teammates. Play we will as we have just a few weeks left in ISL action, a few weeks to come together and prepare for the next spark league in the fall.

DGA hits the losing streak again - Optics - 04 Aug 2008
Wednesday night marked the event we've all been waiting for with the rematch against FB. However, the rematch didn't go well as FB took control from the start with a flag cap. From that moment the game evened out with both teams working hard for opportunities. Finally with about 12 minutes to go tampa subbed in for Optics and the pressure upped to the point where a flag capped nearly happened. Eventually though an FB cap as time expired put the game at 2-0 for FB.

Saturday afternoon DGA suffered their first forfeit loss of the season showing only three people against a much more skilled TM clan.

Finally Sunday marked the rematch of the division rival TnT. The game again started out poorly for DGA with a TnT cap just a few minute in. The pressure continued throughout the game eventually leading to TnT's second cap and the game completed at 2-0.

1up set to scrimmage DGA Thursday night - Optics - 30 Jul 2008
Over the next few months DGA will be doing a string of Thursday night scrimmages. The action will kick off this Thursday night with a matchup against ISL division rival, 1up. In ISL action earlier this season 1up dominated DGA to a 3-0 win, but since then DGA has turned up the heat and has become a bit more active. The Thursday night match will have two twenty minute halves with teams switching sides at 20 minutes. The game will be played for fun and will also be reported to the spark ladder. The action will begin at 11 p.m. eastern time.
DGA and FB game officially moved for Wednesday - Optics - 28 Jul 2008
After a month of sitting in limbo the DGA (1-4-0) and FB (1-4-0) game that was originally scheduled for June 29th is set to be played Wednesday, July 30th at 6:30 p.m. est.
Tampa leads the charge to DGA's first Spark victory - Optics - 27 Jul 2008
After a tough first three weeks and four games of action DGA had a 0-4-0 record and were outscored 0-11. However, a more active group of players and a small gelling of teamwork eventually gave DGA a chance to win.

Late Sunday afternoon DGA (0-4-0) met up with the BMB (0-5-0) in a match that would most likely end with one team getting their first win. After searching for the four members that would battle for DGA tampa, optics, fiya and toocool sat on the green team ready for action.

From the first spawn of the game it was all DGA with tampa fight through a crowd down low to get deep in the BMB base, a post he held for the nearly five full minutes while the rest of his teammates came in and supported his efforts. Eventually it led to a 1-0 lead on a cap by Optics.

Following the first cap came another quick attack by DGA that ended up with some hard pressure deep in the BMB base. This time it was fiya who escaped with the flag, and unlike the first cap, this one was clean and simple with DGA proving dominance for the first time in this new era of the game.

With a 2-0 lead TooCool subbed out bringing killz into the action, though killz would add no frags to the game, he was a part of the final efforts for DGA. With Optics flagging high and eventually getting the cap BMB was able to run away with the other flag getting all the way to the middle of the map. That's where tampa stepped in and stopped the efforts fragging hard on their players to stop the run and eventually cap the flag again to complete the 3-0 win.

Tampa earned MVP of the game, earning high praise for all players on both sides. Hopefully this is just the start of the comeback for DGA and Tampa.

Despite a successful game, losing streak extends to four. - Optics - 26 Jul 2008
Through the first three games of the season DGA had acquired a total of 37 points and 51 frags, losing three games straight 0-3. Each game looking worse than the first it appeared as though a long season was abound.

However, it just took a beautiful Sunday afternoon to completely change the direction of the season. db (3-1-0) and DGA got started about 3:30 pm est time with lineups of Optics, TooCool, Fiya and Ghosty against CheeJudo, Domey, Infra and Wicked. Right off the bat db proved they were going to control the game holding outside pressure in the DGA base, but a strong counter attack from DGA kept them in check on the outside. "We raped pretty good, held out ground" said TooCool, DGA's newest member and star of the game.

That pressure was tough to stop and eventually db charged in with good flag attempts, most of which were thwarted by DGA spawns and healthy crossfire coming back. 15 minutes into the game a solid effort from TooCool and Optics led to a decent flag attempt that Domey tied down quickly though.
Finally 20 minutes into the game db broke through and had the flag they wanted. After a long battle in the middle db eventually capped the flag and only five minutes remained in the match.

A hard press by DGA was needed and it eventually led to three men flagging long the top of the map. The battle in the middle was hard and relentless as everyone tried to get positioning around the flags, both of which were out in the middle of the map at this time. Through the battles a desperate DGA turned into a losing DGA as with no time left infra capped the db flag to earn the 2-0 win.

"We really gelled today as a line" said fiya after the game, fiya's hard work was seen all over the base as he personally stopped several attempts from db.

"Yeah, we smothered them pretty good :) But when we were more spread out. That's where it didn't work." commented TooCool after the game. Though he was disappointed with the loss he saw it as a momentum gainer for the team, "We can bring this momentum, if you want to call it that... and destroy whoever we play tomorrow."

The game tomorrow is at 5 p.m. against BMB, the other team it the league without a victory. For more information and stats check out the ISL Website.

Long time INVADER moves into DGA's lineup - Optics - 19 Jul 2008
Throughout all of Won and Sierra one of the busiest rivalries was between the Damn Good ARCers (DGA) and INVADER. Dozens of games between the two teams led to a fun rivalry and a lot of overtime games including a couple that went well over 50 minutes. One of the highlights of the rivalries has been the big names on both sides of the action, one of them for INVADER is TooCool, a star player that still holds a record in the YAL for the most frags in a single game (in a game against DGA).
With the move to spark a lot of teams didn't survive, one of them was INVADER, a team that will go down in the books as being one of the most memorable clans of the Won/Sierra lifetime. However, the end of one book always leads to the beginning of another.
"I would be honored to join DGA and do my best to help" said TooCool earlier today when discussing his future in the spark community. This is a big move for DGA and TooCool who will both look to make a better name for themselves on spark, beginning with ISL and moving into the future.
However, this won't be a move that will immediately change the 0-2-0 DGA record in ISL into a winning season, but over time TC hopes to make a difference, "hopefully I can find my competitive edge back."
TooCool and the rest of DGA will play their third game of ISL tomorrow at 1pm against AoA.

Despite a solid effort, 1up rocks DGA 3-0 - Optics - 19 Jul 2008
Week two of ISL play took nearly a full month to come to fruition, but today it finally happened. That meant that the DGA and 1up match up started at 2 p.m. eastern standard time today. To start the game DGA had out a classic line up of past DGA stars, Arckilla, Kamikaze, Fiyatics and Optics. That line started the game will earning the first three frags and looking like they could potentially care the effort all game. Through the first 10 minutes neither team had any real advantages with Kamikaze and Optics holding down the high point count.
Slowly though the efforts built up from 1up and they eventually had a deep run into the DGA base where their four players had a great chance. However at the same moment Arckilla was deep in the 1up base grabbing their flag. Eventually the two flags met in the middle where 1up went high and DGA low to keep the game at 0-0. That tie wouldn't hold for much longer though as 1up finally broke DGA's line and run out with four players and a flag to gain the 1-0 lead.
Momentum took control then and it was all 1up from then on, within another 10 minutes 1up had a 2-0 lead and both Kamikaze and Optics had disappeared from the point contest, while Fiya and Arckilla had both picked up some of the slack. After gaining the 2-0 lead Glitch subbed out for Avenger and nothing really changed, the hard effort for 1up continued and led to a 3-0 finish nearing 27 minutes of play.
DGA's next game will be at 1 p.m. est tomorrow against AoA.

Week two of ISL starts late brings AoA, FB - Optics - 12 Jul 2008
After a long break from ISL action (from the 4th of July) the action is one again ready to begin. Our weekend schedule was set to begin today against 1up, but server problems have forced this game to the end of the schedule.

Sunday's games are still to begin and DGA will both start and end the busy day of league games. At 1 p.m. two of the most historic clans created after TEN will play hard when DGA faced off against AoA. The game will begin at 1 p.m. and is AoA's third of the season. They started with a 1-2 loss to psC before swarming all over BMB, 3-0. Arrow leads their clan with 23 frags to this point through two games.

The late game will be against TM which is a rescheduled game from week one. This one is set to begin at 10 p.m. Remember to check out the ISL website for more updates, http://isl.blizzgamers.net/index.php

FB agrees to reschedule, game set for Sunday Night - Optics - 11 Jul 2008
During the first week of ISL play there were technical dificulties that led to a 3v4 moment in the DGA vs. FB game. The game was originally ruled a forfeit by both FB players and ISL staff. However resently Yoshi of FB re-thought the decision and FB has allowed a rescheduled game. The game is set for 10 p.m. Sunday night. For more information check out ISL website, http://isl.blizzgamers.net/
DGA adds more old school stars in TeQ - Optics - 08 Jul 2008
It's been years since we've seen TeQ spend time in DGA, but the time has come yet again. As of 4 p.m. Monday afternoon TeQ has been re-added to the Damn Good ARCers roster for the remainder of the ISL season and beyond. TeQ has played in 25 games with DGA over the years and is just six kills short of becoming the 15th player in DGA history to have over 200 career frags. Look for TeQ in action this weekend when DGA tags on 1up at 2pm Saturday followed by a match up with long-time rival AoA at 1pm Sunday afternoon.
Blink's beastly efforts not enough to top SN - Optics - 30 Jun 2008
In what ended up being DGA's first game since the move to spark we ended up on the mean side of SN's beating stick. From beginning to end of the game it was a very one sided affair with pot, optics and kamikaze shooting every last laser in hopes of doing any damage. Meanwhile SN was able to cap on three of their four attempts with the flag, with the only mishap being on a moment of absolute domination by Blink. With all three teammates in the holding pen blink sniped a missile, then dropped a bomb head-on then earned a 1v1 kill before finishing off the fourth SN deep inside the base to complete the round of slaughter. This effort kept the game at 0-2, but eventually SN finished the game 3-0.
"I just killed one at a time and I'd have just enough health to get the next one, I was smoking nearly the entire time." Said Blink of his late-game heroics. His effort turned him into the only DGAer with a positive frag/death ratio. (6 frags, 5 deaths). All three of Kamikaze, Optics and Pot finished with 0 points and 1-2 frags each.
Our game against FB was called a 'forfeit,' but it will be protested this week due to the problems with spark still in beta stage. Next week the team has the weekend off before moving into the rest of our ISL schedule.

Weather delays postpone ISL season opener - Optics - 28 Jun 2008
With a solid line of killz, optics, ghosty and fiya ready to make the DGA debut on Spark we had a slew of uncontrollable issues. Okay so it may not have been the weather, but server problems have caused the game to be moved to Sunday June 29th at 9 p.m.

"It's fine not your fault at all" said Frucker, the ISL president when in discussion about the game change. It wasn't just hard on the staff, SN representative Eldazo commented "it's not working for any of us" before eventually agreeing to the reschedule time and then slightly sobbed about his Giants being 10 games under .500.

From a DGA front there was nothing but frowns all around, starting with Fiya who said ":(" then killz who quickly mentioned ":(" right before ghost_man added in an israeli tongue, ":(". Ghost_man also made the quick observation "i wont be able to play."

Neither will we ghosty, neither will we.

DGA accepted into ISL - Optics - 24 Jun 2008
It's been a long time since we've been in a situation like this, but it looks like spark is finally ready. This Saturday at 3 p.m. the Damn Good ARCers (DGA) will meet up with the Saucy Nipples (SN) in a classic grudge match between two of the most historical clans in ARC's history. The game is going to be only the second league game ever played on spark, and the first for both clans, both of which have been around for over eight years.

Other clans in ISL include TnT, 1up, AoA, TM, AoF, eVo, db, BMB, psC, SN, FB. DGA will be participating in the obama division that includes TnT, 1up and AoA. For more information go to the ISL website, http://isl.blizzgamers.net/index.php

Pot named to Auxiliary Board, Carl leaves DGA - Optics - 24 Apr 2008
ARC is a funny thing, and over the course of a career many arcers will need to make decisions. Recently two large decisions were reached within DGA, both of which will have an affect on the long-term history of the clan. After less than a month at the helm of DGA's reigns Carl has stepped down form his position as Vice President.

However, the loss comes at a gain for the future of DGA. Pot has been moved up to the Auxiliary Board with the position of Executive Director of In-Team Interaction. Pot's duties will be, among other things, to schedule and organize practices, run in-clan tournaments and keep the clan involved throughout ARC.

We've also added a new member to the DGA ranks. Rico has been a popular name around ARC for years, and with the new generation of Spark becoming what it is DGA was in dire need of a seasoned veteran. Rico was just the man and on Tuesday night he made his debut in practice.

The beginning of the SPARK generation - Arckilla - 24 Mar 2008
Today is the day that DGA's new generation begins.

After a week of getting everything organized and picking new members to start this journey along with old members making the change from ARC to spark, the clan is now at a comfortable 12 player roster and opening up recruitment.

Long-Term goal for me is to get DGA back to a stage it was before ARC died, the way Optics had it visioned. I also plan on having DGAm back in the near future once the clan system is 100% finished and spark is open to the public, with lots of new players to come we don't want to shut our door to any players who might have great potential and can lead us to success in the future.

The Current DGA Roster:

Optics (President/Leader)

Arckilla (Vice President/Co-Leader)

Carl (Vice President/Co-Leader)

Former DGA members making the move to Spark

Perspolis

Pot

Canni

Blink

Tampa

Newest Recruits to DGA

To former DGA and Newer members of DGA, I wish you all a welcome and hope you enjoy bringing this clan to a bright future.

Arckilla and Carl lead DGA into Generation Spark - Optics - 18 Mar 2008
As Spark has moved on and developed over the past 9 months a lot has changed. Many of the former ARCers that made up DGA have moved on, and the game itself is just a tad bit different than the game we all fell in love with years ago. Because of the change the face of DGA needed to change as well. Insert DGA and ARC veteran ArcKilla and one of the shining young stars near the end of ARC, Carl.

These two players both proved over the years their dedication and passion for the game of ARC both as players and as community members. Arckilla spent many years inside of DGA and was a beloved part of the DGA family. He saw many players come and go through his time. His first recorded entrance into DGA was May 28 2004, nearly four years ago. Though he was in and out of the clan many times before and after that he's never been forgotten as a long-term DGA member. Carl is also a past member of the DGA family being an official graduate of the semi-successful DGAm sub-clan. While on ARC he helped the community running the website arc-hub and also running the minor-league NEAL. His community-involvement has continued through spark where he now runs www.spark-clans.net one of just a few spark websites.

Carl and Arckilla are bringing with them a small roster of sparkers that will be announced in the near future. Check back to damngoodarcers.com for more updates, and wish Carl and AK a bright future with DGA.

DGA starts the comeback on spark - Optics - 06 Mar 2008
Well it's been a long break for DGA, with the last official news coming out of the DGA office being on July 10th, just a short while before ARC officially went down on Sierra. With the absence of ARC a new game was created. Remote worked his ass off to create this game, a game we call Spark. Spark is very similar to ARC, but with it's key difference. The most important though is the updates and an active staff. Spark has had countless updates in the past months, and all have improved the game. For those who have questions a very active administration is there to help at every step.
However, the reason today brings the news is the clan system has officially been started on spark. With that I've started DGA on spark, and will now be keeping it active. If you're interested in starting up with spark again either find me on AIM, Optics9, PM me on the messages boards or find me on spark. To download spark go to www.spark-hq.net.
